I was walking home on a footpath, from having a few ales with friends in Clancey's Taver in Fremantle Western Australia. There had been a deluge of rain half an hour before, I started to walk home and pass a huge puddle on the road, up to the top of the curb. Yes you guesed it? A car would have seen the lake of water on my side of the road an came hurtling through it! This caused a huge wave to form and drown me from head to foot stood on the footpath, having had a full imerssion baptism in someones humour, with them tooting their car horn as I was doubled up laughing, with them disapearing into their jovial distance!

When I got home my wife at the time said "Are you that drunk you cannot keep upright and fell into the roadside ditch?" I would not mind, but I only had 4 pints of Guinness. A quarter pound of beef stake in every glass!

As a child I spent every spare second I could find playing in the dams, or the creek. The dams and the creek all definitely off limits. I fell in every time and got into trouble every time, unless I came home with enough yabbies for dinner, then I was fine 😇😇😁😁
