General Discussion Thread 31.01.2025

I hope you're feeling fantastic today! I’m bringing you a bit of flair this morning as Berlin Fashion Week struts onto the scene. There’s something captivating about the bold styles, daring creativity, and statement pieces on show—a reminder that fashion isn’t just about clothes; it’s about expression.

Speaking of style, what’s the most stylish outfit you wore? Maybe even something you wouldn’t dare wear now but absolutely loved then?

I bet some of you have awesome stories—we’d love to read them here!

As a budding designer I worked for a West end dressmaker 7 my first suit that i made in green & white stripe was as stylist as I got the white stripes were emphasizing the curves I had then & very smart I felt in it.

Has to be my 70s disco days and my Brown Satin Pants, a boob tube top and my very high stiletto shoes.

I have no idea how I danced the whole night away in those shoes
l loved a pair of colourful culottes l bought in South Africa on way her.
l remember this dark guy trying to sell us a diamond ring obviously stolen .He even cut a glass window to prove it's authenticity

Can we broaden this subject and ask whats going on around you?
There is a big bushfire near us in Snug been going for about four days.
On a brighter note one of our 15 fertilised eggs in the incubator hatched yesterday. lt's so cute and growing up fast

I’m not sure if it was stylish, but I absolutely loved it…and I wore it too death!!
Black lace up hot pants with a black lacey boob tube, with knee high black boots…
The memories, the great times be it at the local hotel, the drive-in, many parties attended, will live with me forever….

We were ready to evacuate last weekend.
First time I've ever been in that situation and the last I hope. So scary.
I was supposed to be going to catch up with friends in my old town today.Garden Club meeting but with 43 degree heat and a strong wind blowing decided to stay home in case the fire picked up again.

I had so many groovy clothes back in the 60/70s, I loved them all. I've always been a clothes freak and at 78 next week, I confess, I still am.
I have two large wardrobes crammed full but the best buy I ever made was back in 1990.
I was in Hong Kong and had two three piece suits made, one cream and one pale blue. The skirts have gone by the wayside but 24 years later I am still wearing the pants and jackets. I mix and match all pieces with different tops and wear the jackets with jeans. They are still in excellent condition

At $300 for each suit I think they were a bargain.
Pity things are not quite the same in Hong Kong these days.
