Those were the days in the Uk, weeks before bonfire night we would start to gather rubbish for the bonfires we would have in the cobbled Streets, we would make guys and go round the streets with them in homemade wheelbarrows shouting penny for the guy and any money received we would go to the shops and buy Fireworks, we would also roast Potatoes and Chestnuts in the embers and at nights end we would lie in bed and listen to the fire engines going from street to street to put out the smoldering fires.

I certainly remember the cobbled streets and how hard it was to ride a bike on them!

Do any English members of SDC have the Recipe for "Bonfire Toffee" I can only remember it being available around Guy Fawkes Night when I was A kid in the North of England, many years ago?
