I used mine up till March this year, when my bank stopped doing them. All my family including grandkids (except the very youngest) knows what they were.

Most banks now do not accept cheques, I have a book with about 40 unused in.

I received a cheque from the government last week. So they are still out there.

That must be a very old joke as cheque books are all but obsolete. Kids don’t know what one is!

Still sending cheques, the account came with cheque-book facilities some 38yrs ago, bank sent me a
letter stating that account will continue functioning, including cheques...no fees attached to cheques,
still use cash, no fees attached, surviving very well, maybe 'old school', better than giving money away
and getting nothing for it.... just had some electrical work done at home, quote $800, offered cash..payed
$550.... suits me....have a good day everyone...

My Credit Union asked if I wanted to continue to use cheques. They would allow me to if I wanted but I decided it was not in my best interests as so many people do not use them anymore and it might be difficulty to pay for anything with a cheque.

The only bank cheques that I use these days....is the cheque on my bank account to see if I have any money left in it after my weekly Woolworths shopping.

When I was a kid I thought cheques were amazing. Dad would write whatever mum wanted on a piece of paper, she took that to the bank and the teller gave her money. That was my career goal, just to get a weekly cheque!
