Aussies say enough! Government finally targets sneaky supermarket tricks

I see biscuits as the worse. Once upon a time it took 3 bits to eat some biscuits. Now 1 bite & it's gone. Also some biscuits are thinner than they were. You take 1 bite & next thing you know, it is broken in your hand, especially Nice biscuits.

Aussie brand transforms pet health with game-changing breakthrough

I would like to buy some of their products, but being on a pension, certainly stops that. Prices per unit are well above what I can afford.

Real-life Temu trend: New discount experience stirs curiosity across suburbs

I have been dealing with Temu for the last 6 months & as yet have not had any products that I have bought fail. I do a lot of reviewing before I buy any product, no matter who from. But like any place, there are good products & bad products.

Would removing this cost fix the housing crisis for retirees? Experts weigh in

Stamp duty should be exempt when downsizing. It is the only reason I cannot afford to downsize.

What hobby did you pick up after retiring?

I have taken up lawn bowls & bred birds. I had to give up golf after a major back operation.

Big move promises to unlock significant solar savings for renters nationwide

Under the Green's proposal the taxpayer pays. The current government's proposal will only help those people who have the money to buy a solar battery. For the normal family paying 2/3 rds of $13000/$14000 would be out of their reach. It is a proposal for the rich, not the normal family.

Would removing this cost fix the housing crisis for retirees? Experts weigh in

I would like to downsize, but cannot afford the stamp duty. If there was no stamp duty I could afford to move from my current country town.

January Competition: Win a Year's Membership to SDC Rewards

It would be great to win SDC Membership for a year as I have always been interested in joining but as a pensioner I spend all of my pension on food & bills.

Aussies rage over ABC's 'woke' fireworks coverage—see why it causes such uproar

Coverage of the New Years Eve fireworks by the ABC are appalling. Their camera angles leave much to be desired.

The truth about delivery thefts — is your home a target?

Twice this week I was supposed to have two packages delivered by Australia Post. I received SMS's & emails stating that they attempted to deliver, but no one was home. On both occasions we were home. Also we have a security camera positioned on our 20 metre drive & there was no evidence of any...

Government boosts home care funding to expand services for more patients

It would be better to receive treatment for serious illness at home, than none at all. It would appear that to be taken to Singleton (NSW) hospital by ambulance you would need to be having a heart attack or a stroke. This happened to my wife about 3 months ago. She was very sick & couldn't walk...

    AIBU 07.10.2024

I do like the way the boy is trying to make some pocket money, but he should have asked permission first. Some people like me mow their lawns at a certain height in summer & a different height in winter. I am very fussy how I mow my lawn, & would not be happy if someone came along & mowed it...
