I remember in the early 50's hanging one of my Dad's socks on the bed post, and waking to find a piece of fruit, some lollies and a small gift, Dad didn't have big feet! Another gift would be on the floor below. No big gifts in those days!
I've had magpies come to my front door for years! They chortle to call me to feed them every day. I've even had one come into the kitchen to look for me when the front door was left open! Never been swooped!
My husband, me, and my disabled twin brother are going on The Steam Rail Victoria train from Warragul to Longwarry this afternoon! Looking forward to a step back in history.
When I was a teenager (60 years ago), all bags had to be left on a shelf inside the entrance before entering the supermarket. Any bags taken in were searched by checkout operators on the way out. There was very little shoplifting in those days!
