Unlock free vouchers and gifts at Woolworths during their Appreciation Week!

This is a wonderful gesture on Woollies’ behalf. I hasten to add that, while I would enjoy receiving a gift, we should be nice to staff as a matter of course. I hear some awful stories of bad treatment of staff so I always smile, chat and try my best to improve their day.

Watch out, drivers! This mistake could cost you $1,036

I’ve noticed that in some shopping car parks, you take your life in your hands! Elderly people have reversed their car in front of me without even looking backwards or checking the mirror. I am a senior but cannot comprehend how they stay alive or how pedestrians are not killed! This has...

    Lunchtime favourites

I absolutely loved Sunny Boys in summer. I’d freeze them and take to school or have at home. The best part was the juice left at the bottom of the pack.

Remember this 'luxury' supermarket item Aussies used to buy? It’s still around—prepare for a wave of nostalgia!

    Seersucker tablecloth

Seersucker tablecloth Mum had a bright yellow seersucker table cloth. The 70s have a lot to answer for! Although, it would probably be fashionable today.

    Delicious spiders

Delicious spiders Yes! I remember buying a weekly spider at a milk bar after church. It was pineapple flavoured and had small chunks of pineapple mixed in. It brings back the most wonderful memories of my teens.

    Bonds nighties

Bonds nighties Oh yes I remember washing these little nighties for my first boy (yes!) and packing it lovingly in my hospital bag. Also, same for my second boy. This was the standard going home baby outfit and were so sweet. There’s no sign of them these days. Fashions for babies have...

Startling message left on vehicle—a strict parking rule enforced by affluent community!

There is a man on our street who thinks he owns the public road space outside his home. He has even asked our son (who was living with us at the time) to move his car. Imagine our glee when he’s had builders park heavy vehicles and utes outside on ‘his’ road. You just can’t tell a tradie where...

Shocking sight at Vinnies has Aussies outraged

This rubbish dumping is disgusting! Whatever happened to the golden rule to do unto others the way you’d like things to be done to you? It would be ideal to have a surveillance camera to photograph offenders and post pictures of them. Or temporary volunteer security people to keep watch. I know...
