Scammers target unsuspecting seniors, divert tax refunds—stay vigilant!

The scammers on Facebook are a joke. I must have had every General of the US Army try to friend me! Not interested.

Parties double down on call to split Coles, Woolworths duopoly amid soaring supermarket prices

My IGA charges mostly 10% more than the nearest Coles. Costs me around $35 in petrol to drive to Coles, so a $350 shop in IGA costs the same. Its just the range is not quite as good.

Shocking exposé reveals how disability provider bilked $1 million in NDIS claims

Talk about NDIS, then have a look at MyAgedCare. Each month my statement is incorrect. I wonder just how the very elderly, those with seeing problems or just not financially literate get on? They are just being ripped off. NDIS seems to be in the same basket. It all needs a big make over. And soon.

Shocking exposé reveals how disability provider bilked $1 million in NDIS claims

MyAgedCare is the same as NDIS. Full of loopholes and a way for the provider to make large profits without taking care of those in need. The providers are getting huge amounts of money for doing as little as possible. There really needs to be a sensible look at aged care and disability care.

What is the story of maneki-neko, the Japanese beckoning cat?

I looked at the statues and thought that the eyes were odd. Yes, I believe that they are 'human' eyes, not slit eyes of a cat. An unusual Japanese error, so can anyone tell me is there a cultural reason for this.

Artificial intelligence is already in our hospitals. 5 questions people want answered

Where I live, we have a roster of locum doctors. Must are not really interested, and just write the script I ask for. Not really good health care.

Actor Alec Baldwin faces new charges over movie set tragedy

In my family there were guns. BUT we were all drilled (me, sister and brother) to never EVER point it at anything which we did not intend to kill. So many of these incidents are the result that this teaching was not done.

Radio icon Phil Brady crawls for his life after a harrowing accident: ‘I’m a tough old bird’

As Barrie Humphries said on an interview, he was looking at 70 from the wrong side. So am I. Whenever I go outside to the garden, I always take my mobile phone. If I have a fall which I have done, and cannot getup which has not happened, I can call for help.

Massive Medicare overhaul proposal could drain taxpayers $12 billion—is it worth it?

A well overdue addition to our health care. My concern is that will there be enough dentists to do the work. Will this be like the doctors, in my area it is a constantly changing locum.

    As Safe As A Bank

An interesting story and thank you for sharing. I live in an isolated area and do a lot of shopping online. And some sites I doubt. I have been considering getting a card which is unrelated to my main accounts and putting a small amount of money into it. That way any online fraud would only get...

Aussie women talk about how much they’ve saved through the years

I am 75 yo. Looking back I should have started seriously saving when I first started working. Then women could not get superannuation. I was lucky to buy 3 houses with a spouse, and then now have a house on my own. Saving now is a problem but I am able to put a small away aside each pension...

Want to fix your hunchback at home in 10 minutes? This chiropractor says it's possible!

Totally agree with this article. I have been seeing a remedial masseur who has given me exercises. These are slowly straightening my dowagers hump and removing pain in my upper arms. This problem has been here for many years and unfortunately my previous therapists have not been looking at the...

Patients fear impact of ‘discriminatory’ proposed Medicare rebate cut for telehealth appointments

Online consultations have been a game changer for me, living in 'remote Victoria'. Yes, see a GP for a face to face consultation, but more and more clinics are staffed by locums. Its better than no doctor. But allow the doctor or specialist decide if a face to face is required. With the help...

Are Bunnings’ sausage sizzles at risk? Find out what the company says

I think that it is just another set of rules to keep under employed people in jobs. AND has anyone ever got sick from a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle? Never one which I have volunteered at.
