Paper bag blues: How Australia’s plastic ban creates new problems for shoppers

Years ago in the 60s when those horrible paper bags were phased out I was delighted with their plastic replacement. However within a short time realised in the early 70s that this was a nonsense and I tried to put groceries back in trolley...was not allowed, they insisted giving them to me...

Trolley chaos divides shoppers as invisible tech barrier traps carts between rival stores

well they did that in MeadowBanks years ago...only allowed in the carpark otherwise locking wheels... Emptying the trolley at the boundary and transferring the stuff just a few meters away to my car proved such a hassle that after trying twice I gave up. Surprise.... shoppers voted with their...

Startling scene shows magpie swooping behaviour reaching alarming levels this season

2 days ago a magpie landed next to me whilst I was weeding and it proceeded to accompany me around for approx.10mn whilst I went on. I must say I was a bit dubious when it came in and landed 50cm from me wondering what could I do if it tried to attack me but stayed calm cool and collected 😂 ...

QR code payments hit diners with surprise five percent surcharge

just last Wednesday in a group of 20, I was the only one "brave"enough to use a QR code to order & pay for my meal. Though I did not include the glass of wine as the two I saw on the "paper" menu list were not listed. On mentionning this to the bartender he advised me that I should have look...
