Did Labor just block 20,000 aged care packages to save money? Sam Rae breaks his silence

It is painfully clear that Labor are not understanding the need that is in every community they govern. We can't even get the first 20k packages out when there is a stated over 108k people on a wait list! What they have planned is not going to fix the problem. They are so severely behind in...

Centrelink moves to clear confusion over supposed bonus payouts

There is not one of us that receive Government assistance that would ever believe that we would be receiving a $1300 bonus! We're not that silly!!

Lack of aged care beds, home support in keeping the elderly in hospital in WA

Governments, both State and Federal and both Labor and Liberal have deliberately ignored the influx of the Baby Boomers into the health system. It's now beginning to show and it can only get worse, not better as the Baby Boomers all reach old age. Ridiculously, Governments are still ignoring...

Would you be OK with your parcel being tossed like this?

I have changed my delivery instructions to Australia Post Only and have had no problems since doing that. Star Track are the worst culprits. So lazy! And no care whatsoever shown to my parcels. They are shameful and shouldn't still be in business. Australia Post I have found to be great.

Major checkout change quietly rolls out across supermarkets

I always ask for a paper receipt so that I can check it all before leaving the store, saving me a return visit. I have found many mistakes in Woolworths, some in Coles and never in Aldi.

Tap-and-Go Nation: Inside Australia’s $160 Billion Cashless Boom

I am gradually reverting back to having cash to pay so that I don't have to pay the excess that so many places are landing us with now. A dollar here , a dollar there adds up when you're on a pension! Why should I have to pay for the convenience (?) of using my card?? And what happens to the...

Cash isn’t dead yet: Big banks and retail giants unite to save Armaguard – and keep your money moving

I readily accepted using my cards instead of cash until just recently when hotels and retailers decided to charge me extra for using my cards. It's only a small amount but then so is my pension and these small amounts keep adding up. Hence now I have reverted back to using cash again. If they...

Aussies skip life’s basics as new report reveals what’s being sacrificed to make ends meet

All we need to do to discover all the things that are happening to good people who have worked all of their lives, is look at the previous pay "rise" for aged pensioners. A mere and embarrassing $9.20/month when we all know that our costs have gone up EVERYWHERE by so much more than that. My...

‘Changing the host now is a terrible idea’: Is this the biggest risk yet for Survivor?

Please tell me this is not true!!! I'm a Survivor fan and can't even begin to imagine the show without Jonathon as the host. He's the best there is, especially in comparison to the US version. Leave the show alone...please!!!

Cost of living relief kicks in July 1: What Aussies can expect

I'm so happy for all the recipients of this good fortune, apart from the politicians' pay rise which was disgusting in the extreme. But the people who needed it the most received an embarrassing $9.20/month!!! My rent alone went up by $60/month. They halved the electricity rebate so the...

Retailers are folding fast—is this Aussie brand the next to go?

Well, what did the Government and Reserve Bank expect when putting up interstate rates on homeowners? We only have a certain amount of money to spend and mortgages, rent, food and petrol are top of the list. Superfluous things just can't be bought, so of course small business, most especially in...

Delivering next-level services: Australia Post rolls out new upgrades to serve Aussies better

Wait! What???Does this mean I won't get my parcels delivered to my home? I thought it would only be if they tried to deliver and no one was home. I don't want to go out every time I need to get a parcel. I have about 3 deliveries a week! Please tell me this is not what is going to happen......

Calls grow louder for the government to stop stalling on home care

My best friend has just gone through the 'system' with her 86 year old husband who has dementia and is in stage 4 with bone cancer. He was adamant that he wanted to be cared for at home. She was approved of funds but then discovered that she was only able to get nursing help for one hour a day...

Incoming NSW $1,500 rebate: Will it be a critical lifeline as power bills bite?

He's not being a grizzler, just stating the truth. I'm guessing you're not on a pension but gleefully pocketed the new MINIMUM wage increase with not a thought to those who might be a hell of a lot worse off than you, especially those of us who have to rent or pay off a mortgage whilst on far...

Incoming NSW $1,500 rebate: Will it be a critical lifeline as power bills bite?

I'm pretty sure I would know if I was getting a $1500 rebate on my electricity bill. We pensioners should be so lucky!!!! And all know we aren't, so there is quite obviously a mistake here SDC. The Government don't care enough to give us a $1500 rebate, instead they think we should be grateful...
