The great supermarket caper: Why shoppers are launching a nationwide hunt for a missing favourite

You do have to wonder why though they would stop making something that is clearly popular and selling well. It doesn't make sense to me. There is always the alternative of making your own. I don't cook and bake like Suzanne Rose does but choc chip cookies are in my repertoire for my grandies and...

From character to concrete? Locals rally to preserve what’s left of their neighbourhood’s history

With the housing problems of today they shouldn't be allowed to knock them down unless they are unsafe and not fit for living in and they find all tenants other suitable and reasonable rent houses. There are always developer's who want to knock anything down for money but as said people have...

Tiny home dream shattered for WA woman with epilepsy as council orders removal

It sounds like the council has reneged on their original agreement to allow the tiny home and that is not on. The owners have gone to considerable expense to purchase and establish the home with all necessary amenities so if the council is now reneging they should have to pay the owners all...

Dream holiday turns to nightmare—and a $25,000 bill after this freak accident

I never used to take out insurance back in the early days when I was much younger and first came over here but do now and always take it everywhere else. You just never know and you hear such horror stories. And people don't take it and don't read the fine print if they do then expect everyone...

Will the ‘military sleep method’ really help me fall asleep in 2 minutes?

I don't usually have any trouble going to sleep, it's staying asleep that's the problem for me. Yesterday I woke at 4.30am and because I was moving just got up and got on with things. A very ling tiring and physical day later I got to bed and went to sleep but woke at 1.30am. Could not get...

'Cash mandate' that might not mandate much: What Australia's new rules really mean for your wallet

That's because calculators rather than mental arithmetic is used these days. Kids don't know how to use their brains.

'Cash mandate' that might not mandate much: What Australia's new rules really mean for your wallet

But punishing everyone for the few is not the way especially for the elderly who don't use cards. And as already stated cards cost and it adds up so ends up taking quite a wack out of what for some is already not enough to get by. They need to put their thinking caps on and come up with a better...

Ever wonder what staff members are checking when you leave this store? Here's the logic behind this step

Yes you can understand they want to make sure you have a receipt, maybe it's to check it's today's receipt and not another day's and you are stealing this lot. If they put the registers back atvthe front doors it would stop that.

The cost of convenience: Are your bills adding up when using these services?

That sounds like price gouging to me. Prices should be the same no matter how you shop in each supermarket. There is no need or excuse for variations apart from supermarket greed.

'I’m doing well': Iconic star shocks fans after online death hoax spirals out of control

She is clearly doing very well and at a remarkable age of 91. Hope I am going so well then. I was walking around my local park the other day and got talking to a lovely man who I have said hello to regularly. Turned out he was 90 and he could easily pass for 70. Again hope I am still fit and...

Not so simple anymore: The smart TV revolution meets its match

It actually defies all logic to only be available in one country. Why not disperse them around the world to test the markets. They don't have to flood them but you don't normally manufacture on such a small scale.

10 daily habits you’ll wish you started sooner for a safer home

I am certainly fit for my age and still reasonably young. But having said that I am moving in a couple of days from a really large house with room to swing a cat in every space to a much smaller house so I am going to have less space around furniture especially in the bedroom etc so I daresay I...

They say read the manual but they actually don't come with one and they should at the very least. Always used to and should go back to it.
