Sunlight Soap

A familiar sight in kitchens and laundries across Australia, Sunlight Soap was the humble hero of spotless washing days. Its fresh, clean scent filled the air as hands scrubbed on washboards and clothes fluttered on backyard lines. From muddy socks to Sunday whites, Sunlight did it all — a bar of reliability that lasted and lathered like no other. Do you remember using Sunlight Soap at home or watching someone who did? Share your memories in our forum! 🧼 🧺

I have an unused box of this soap (same as the box above) sitting in the laundry cupboard. It came from my mother's home when we packed it up many years ago. I remember everyone had sunlight soap and also the adds on TV. Thought it may come in use, but still has not been used 15 years later. Oh how times have changed.

I also keep a box ,it has many uses ,I remember we also used Sunlight soap to shampoo our hair .

i still use it, as my mum did in the 40's and 50's

I just looked it up and it was if anyone could prove it wasn’t what they said it was. But no one ever claimed the reward. Cool hey 🌞

This soap was wonderful. It had so many uses for cleaning. Loved the clean fresh aroma.

I always have a bar of sunlight soap in the laundry. It has so many uses, even today and I always use it on my hands after gardening. I told my Vietnamese daughter-in-law about it and now she uses it too.

My son was about 10 he swore so I took him into the laundry and dragged the soap on his teeth he never swore again till he was 16 when he hit his hand with a hammer as I walked into the shed and he said Sorry mum

I wonder how many children had their mouths washed out with soap. I know I was one of them. My curse word was' bloody' I was three and I had heard a neighbour use this word after he hit his thumb with a hammer. I thought the word was great and told my Mum that the neighbour had hit his thumb and what he had said she was appalled and The neighbour was yelled at and I got the soap treatment.
