Veteran broadcaster Alan Jones has been charged with nine additional counts of indecent assault, bringing the total number of offences laid against the 84-year-old to 44.

Court records confirmed the new charges were formally laid against Mr Jones on Monday.

The former talkback host was arrested last year after an investigation by NSW Police child abuse detectives into alleged indecent assaults and sexual touching incidents on 11 complainants between 2001 and 2019.

The full list of charges are 11 counts of aggravated indecent assault, 29 counts of assault with act of indecency, two counts of sexually touching another person without consent and two counts of common assault.

Mr Jones's lawyer has previously stated that his client will plead not guilty to all charges.

The case is due to return to court on Thursday.

Jones denies allegations

After leaving his first court appearance in December, Mr Jones told the media he was not guilty and would be defending every charge against him.

"I will not be engaging in a running commentary in the media. But, I want you to understand this: these allegations are all either baseless or they distort the truth, and you should know that prior to my arrest I was given no opportunity by police to answer any of these allegations," Mr Jones said.

In May, Mr Jones's lawyer told a court the brief of evidence against the former broadcaster contained witness statements that were "blatantly contradictory" to the allegations against him.

"Witnesses said they have never seen Mr Jones engage in any sexually inappropriate behaviour at all," lawyer Bryan Wrench told the court.

Carefully chosen witnesses? He could say the same thing about me if he asked me if I saw Captain Cook land, too.

Lock this slimy rock spider up in the general population of any Australian jail and see how he fares.
Within a day, he would get carted out in a meat wagon so he join his knob jockey mate, Stuart Wagstaff.

Same as that faggot called Gareth Ward, who is currently in custody at Cessnock Correctional Centre awaiting his sentencing tomorrow. Typical of a former LNP politician. Malcolm Fraser's underpants episode comes to mind, just like Ward.

Why should rock spiders get any special treatment inside? They didn't give their victims any

To think I used to watch his talk on tv every morning running someone down years ago and think what a good job he was doing . What ever was I thinking ? Never had any time for him after the DAM burst episode and the people sued him and won . Now all this “ pity he hadn’t been in the area when it flooded . Slime ball but people like this seem to have so many followers backing them when they are caught out in old age .

My late paternal great-aunt used to be his private secretary many moons ago. Pity she's not here to ask her.

Wasn't he done for cottaging a few years ago as well, lousy turd burglar.

Witnesses havnt seen it? Duh! Hardly think it would be done in front of witnesses and far too many complsinents

Ah, Allen Jones, my mother followed him and would often quote some of his commentary. He always took the higher moral ground on a range of issues and side stepped the issue of being homosexual.
I remember seeing him having a meal with Cardinal Pell and Tony Abbott AND THOUGHT AT THE TIME "THERE YOU ARE WHAT A SUITABLE TRIO".
Creepy, dishonest, narcissistic, perverted and total lowlifes.

A Magistrate decides if it (evidence) needs to go further ie. to a jury.

I remember a drag Queen Danny La rue early days always denied being bent. One I see him in the Kent Arms (Bent Arms) Silvertown way in London, tongue this blokes throat he would have been licking more than his tonsils

I bet he gets away with it!
Time will tell, but I feel sorry for the ones that withdrew. It can be too heartbreaking to attend court.

I am totally shocked at the amount of “politicians” who are said to be paedophiles.

Canberra will protect them all, regardless
