'Honestly very gross': Homeowner spots intruder in her home multiple times!

Homeowners take pride in their humble yet comfortable abodes.

Yet, imagine the surprise and unease of discovering that someone has been enjoying your home without prior permission.

It's a scenario straight from a mystery novel, yet for one family, it became a startling reality.

In the quiet streets of New Farm, Brisbane, a family's sense of security was rippled.

The family recently found out that a stranger had been sneaking into their backyard to use their family's swimming pool.

However, this was not a one-off midnight swim under the stars.

The mystery swimmer turned their pool into his personal leisure spot multiple times since January.

The Stevens family scratched their heads in confusion about the uninvited guest's identity.

'It just feels a little bit entitled,' homeowner Holly Stevens remarked.

Thanks to CCTV footage, the family pieced together the stranger's brazen routine.

'He's like, sweaty, has sneakers on, and he's running, and then he's stretching in the pool after a run, which is honestly very gross because it's just like this bloke that we don't know,' Ms Stevens said in an interview.

In light of their discovery, the Stevens family immediately took action.

They upgraded their home's CCTV system, which should give them clearer footage of the trespasser.

'We installed better CCTV after about the second time, so now we can see pretty clearly when he accesses the property,' Ms Stevens explained.

'Before that, it's likely that he could have entered, and we just wouldn't have known.'

The footage of the sneaky swimmer has been handed over to the police, who started an investigation into the incidents caught on camera.

If caught, the man could likely face charges of trespassing and more, depending on what the authorities uncover.

This peculiar situation should serve as a reminder to all about the importance of securing homes.

Authorities recommended taking measures such as installing external walls and fences to deter potential trespassers.

Homeowners may also consider using motion-activated lights, security cameras, and alarm systems to enhance the safety of their homes.

It's essential to feel safe and protected in your own space, especially as you cherish your privacy and peace during your golden years.

If you have an outdoor area that could be vulnerable to uninvited guests, it might be time to review your home's security measures.

Unbelievable my goodness, who would even think to do that? Well this twit thinks it's ok. You just shake your head in disbelief. It is rather scary really a stranger just using your pool. Maybe a sign with huge lights coming on. The sign might say something along the lines. We have every trespassing swim on camera expect a visit from the police. Don't be such a tight bum go to the local pool and pay for a swim. We are not a community pool. Maybe an alarm system going off really load might send him back running. You just have to shake your head in disbelief 🫢
Kind regards to all Vicki

The offender handed himself into the police. His excuse was he thought it was a show house or something and didn’t realise it was actually someone’s home. He still shouldn’t have been there. He got off with a caution
Is this the same one on the news or another one as this says at night where the other was doing it in broad daylight. If it's the news one it's old news already.

At least he didn't do or mean harm. He never stole anything or broke anything.

I'm guessing he would have been embarrassed when he realised it wasn't a display home.

Unlike the intruders we had the other night in our area jumping fences and seeing what they could steal. They were found and arrested in my Street at 1.30am . This is scary thinking this is tge time my daughter may have been coming home

Find some good dye a really bright colour some type that can't be removed easily have a 5 - 10 litre bucket full when you catch him leaving the pool thrown the bucket full of died water to cover as much exposed skin as possible, if you're lucky enough to get good coverage on his body I would say problem solved particularly if he was bright red or similar it would take a while to get rid of the dye.

No mention of any locked gates to the garden.🤔 Have they just got an unlocked entrance that anyone can go through? They can put up as many cameras as they like. It won't stop a stranger getting in. 🙄

We had someone walk into our front yard & steal flowered plants from some large pots & a small ornamental cactus. We reckon it was about 4:30am. The security lights would have gone off. People told us they repot plants & sell them to landscapers, who don't know any different. We now lock those front side gates & installed a couple of small cameras that aren't obvious.
