General Discussion Thread 14.03.2025

Hey there, members! Have you had your afternoon snack? I'm in a bit of a pickle. My mum brought home mooncakes from a recent trip. I gave it a try today, but my taste buds immediately said no after the first bite. I’m wondering if it’s just an acquired taste, or if I just ate a bad one. 😳 What about you? Is there a food or drink you can’t seem to like? Share your stories here.

Mushrooms 🍄 I wished I could eat them because of how good they are for you but it's a big no to mushrooms for me.

Olives. I wish I did.

There was a time when l wouldn't eat onions, but that changed. However l still don't like tomatoes despite liking tomato soup and sauce. Another thing l dislike is garlic.

Ginger in any form and Chinese black bean dishes. I love other Chinese dishes.

Runny eggs. I have never tasted baked beans but they look so slimy! My husband likes both (and also Trump though I don't know why). 🌷

I don't eat olives either except on pizza. My family goes through a lot of olives each week

Baked beans are yum. My hubby loves runny eggs I say to him he should call them egg soup

Coriander.
It tastes like soap to me.
I believe it stems from a particular gene I inherited.
They tell me its quite nice, wish I could manage it

I dislike garlic too. Instead I use spring onions and leeks plus their green stalks.

For me the very smell of pumpkin cooking makes me a bit queasy and I don't eat it either. I wish I could enjoy this veg as I know how good it is for you.

I could not tolerate mushrooms (they just tasted like dirt to me). But during my third pregnancy, I acquired a real taste for them and have easily devoured them ever since. Yum 😋

I’ve never been able to eat seafood. Ugh. Wish I could but I get sick. The sight and smell of them. I couldn’t bear to even touch them.

I liked runny eggs as a kid, but the yoke and the white of course, must be hard cooked now. 🍳

Mooncake is an acquired taste in my opinion.

I like tomatoes cooked with meat, fish etc, but not tomato soup.

BOILED RICR or sago yuk. I can tolerate fried rice, but that is all.
It comes from boarding school.
Almost every thing else is fine.
Any seafood, vegetable or regular fruit, I eat the lot.

Unfortunately, if you saw my girth you’d understand that I like everything🤭🤭

Any kind of offal, I've tried all from kidneys to sweetbread, like the flavour they leave in sauce but can't stand there texture when I chew them, brains cooked a certain way I can handle.
