As the years roll by, many of us might find ourselves reminiscing about being youthful and resilient.
But for Aussie rock legend Jimmy Barnes, it seems the best is yet to come.
Barnesy's recent interview came after a series of health setbacks that would have slowed down a lesser man, but not him.
The Cold Chisel frontman recently appeared on Sunrise to share his health journey.
In 2023, doctors found a bacterial infection that spread to Jimmy Barnes' heart valve.
These findings led to an open heart surgery for the singer.
Last August, he faced another challenge when the infection spread to his hip, which landed him in the intensive care unit.
However, these setbacks only fuelled his determination to stay fit and healthy.
'I'm healthier now than I was when I was 21,' Barnes confidently stated during the interview.
'I'm healthy, besides the obvious. When I got the staph infection, it was an accident. But before that, I was swimming 30 laps of the pool every day, and I was doing Pilates.
'I'm looking after myself. I have a lot to do that I want to get done in my life,' he further added.
Jimmy Barnes' commitment to health was more than just for recovery; it was about reaching new heights in his career.
'As far as being a performer goes, I feel like I am just starting to find my feet,' he said.
Barnes was not ready to rest on his laurels yet, as he believed that his best work was still ahead of him.
'Hopefully, I will be like that until the day I die. You always want to be pushing yourself.'
Barnes, who came from a recent check-up, revealed that he is ready to rock the stage for the next two decades.
To celebrate his newfound lease on life, Jimmy Barnes announced a new world tour dedicated to his 21st studio album!
Jimmy Barnes' Defiant Tour was named after her latest record, and he will be seen on major stages across Australia.
The tour schedule included stops in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, and Canberra.
The album promised to be a soulful journey with a country twist, as Barnes described it as 'white man's soul music'.
'They tell stories, and they are always very emotional. So, there's a bit of that going into the writing of these songs,' Barnes explained.
However, Barnes' Defiant Tour should highlight more than just his music.
He intended to make the tour a family affair, as he wanted to celebrate the musical legacy running in his blood.
Apart from the tour, Jimmy Barnes proudly shared that his granddaughter, Ruby Rogers, had already made waves in the music scene.
Rogers recently signed a record deal and already has an album in the works.
Barnesy recently released the the first single from the new album, entitled 'New Day'.
'New Day' also came out with a music video, which featured Troy Cassar-Daley and Laurel Edwards.
