'Please tell me this is normal': Woman shares shocking experience during her makeover session

When we think of pampering ourselves, a trip to the spa or a salon often springs to mind.

For some, though, a simple pedicure could be a relaxing experience.

Yet, for one woman, her quest for relaxation took a bizarre turn.

In a video that left social media users baffled, a woman shared her unique salon experience.

The woman expected a typical pedicure, but it came with a sweet yet strange twist.

The pedicurist poured a sweet, aromatic creamer into the basin in the middle of the pedicure, which turned the water a creamy white hue.

She then shared her disbelief in a written caption.

'I got a milk and honey pedicure, and they added French Vanilla coffee creamer to the water. Please tell me this is normal?' she asked.

While the salon's creative substitution was far from the norm, it sparked a lot of conversation online.

Some viewers found humour in the situation.

'Did you say French tip or French vanilla?' one asked.

'The way he added them at the same time to give a little more razzle-dazzle,' another quipped.

'Isn't that stuff sticky?' a third wondered.

Others shared their peculiar pedicure stories in the comments section as well.

'I got a Christmas pedicure and had smushed cranberries rubbed all over my legs. I was mystified but also intrigued,' a commenter wrote.

'I paid for a citrus pedicure, and they rubbed a cold grapefruit on me,' another shared.

A traditional milk and honey pedicure should involve natural ingredients like milk cream or a soothing milk soak.

These ingredients are known for their moisturising properties and can gently exfoliate the skin.

However, it took some beauty enthusiasts aback because of the usage of a French Vanilla creamer.

This incident is not the first time nail salons made headlines for unconventional practices.

In a bid to stand out, some salons have offered discounts for unusual reasons.

A Toronto-based nail salon started giving a 20 per cent discount to women who allowed photos of their feet to be sold online.

Blimey Charlie, this posting is of the most necessity & rivetting reading. Real important news for everyone indeed.
I wonder if they can write a story of me attending the chiropodist to get my toe nails cut & a corn being treated.
That'll create a great deal of interest to everyone on these postings.

What a lot of sheer bloody rot to write about.
Give us a break.
Why on earth am I posting this garbage, I'll never know.
Last time l went to get my toenails cut was my last. l wasn't impressed when l saw blood pouring out of my toe. She covered it not saying a word not even saying she was sorry. My toe was sore for a few days.

Why do you think “a lot of stupid females” have pedicures? It’s very relaxing with the foot (and sometimes calf) massage and leaving the salon with feet feeling and looking good. Also a great pick-me-up mentally.

However, I’ve never heard of using food for a massage. Normally, moisturisers, or oils/essential oils are used.

There are plenty of intelligent females who get pedicures. Why don’t you give it a try? 🦶🏻

Nothing wrong with a pedicure, is very very relaxing, but I would only go to a qualified podiatrist for one. The numerous pedicure and manicure places popping up in shopping centres I’m very wary of. I sometimes wonder about their qualifications and some of the products used, especially for fingernails and the application and use of false nails. I have seen, on media, the damage to fingernail beds from use of bad products (the solution & the artificial nails).

Haven’t actually witnessed it but do they empty and sanitise those foot baths properly after each customer? I’m fortunate to have very strong nails on feet and hands so I don’t need the manicure but do need the pedicure by my podiatrist about every 5-6 weeks & get an excellent rebate from my health fund.

Each to his own, I say.

I go to a podiatrist for my feet’s health.
Not often, I indulge in a manicure and pedicure from a salon/spa that my daughter has researched to be trusted. I’ve never had any problems.

That’s great, and I’m sure you would enjoy it, it’s just that I’m a bit wary so I stick with my podiatrist. He does a good job of cutting my nails & gives my feet a quick gentle massage after.

I don’t blame you. There are a lot of shonky businesses to beware of.
