Who remembers Tom Piper Camp Pie? Let’s be honest, not everyone was a fan of its unique taste, but it definitely had its place as a port in a storm. Do you have fond (or not so fond) memories of Tom Piper Camp Pie? Tell us here.

I certainly remember Tom Piper and still buy Camp Pie without Tom. Still pretty good.

A great standby & still is. Over the years i have heard lots of bad things that have gone through the mincing & canning process, but canned meat is still a good standby.

My mum used to make sandwiches for us to take to school or she dipped it in batter & served with veggies for our tea. Might look for it and try it again, haven't had it since then.

I remember that

I don’t remember this specifically, but I do remember Devon. That was a staple for awhile in my household when I was growing up on school sandwiches. Not sure I ever want to eat it again.

When coming home from boarding school I always knew mum would have all my favourite things stocked up for me.
Tom Piper Campie was a favourite lunch time meal, either crumbed and lightly fried or cam pie and homemade tomato relish sandwiches on brown bread….yum
Oh how I miss all the things mum did for me ❤️

Camp Pie may not be our favourite, but when I worked in South Korea I was amazed that they loved it.

I can't remember if I liked it but it was a change from rabbit (which I love to this day)

Ahh yes! Grand ma used to call it " underground mutton" but Her Rabbit Stew was fabulous.

OMG camp pie and spam were the most horrendous things ever and powdered potatoes when we were caravanning.

We used to eat a lot of camp pie as kids, guess it was more affordable for poor families than fresh meat. I really liked it, used to buy it now and again just to remind me of my childhood. Haven’t seen it in the shops for many years.

I haven't seen it either, but I used to enjoy it on a sandwich with tomato sauce 😋

It was a blessing at the end of the week. Slices dipped in batter or egg and breadcrumbs then fried, in fat those days, and fed my family of 6 with vegies.

Talking about fried camppie reminds me, when I was pregnant with last daughter,vi had an appointment at the hospital so left the kids at home withe their father while I walked up there (30 minutes walk each way) . When I got home I asked him if he had had something to eat and fed the kids. Yes, he said, I fried us up some Strasbourg, what Strasbourg I asked, the roll in the fridge, scraping my head I went to the fridge to look, not knowing if he had bought it, returned to him and said, no Strasbourg in the fridge, that was the dog sausage. Killed myself laughing thinking, how could you be so stupid and not look before you eat 😂

My father took me fishing on a river in a little boat. We had camp pie sandwiches. As I hated camp pie I sneakily took the meat out and dropped it over the side.
We didn't catch any fish.
Either they ate the camp pie, there were no fish or they were poisoned by the camp pie 🤔

I could not imagine anything more ghastly. No amount of sweet chilli sauce could kill the taste!
