For the same reason that you might sneak food or drink into a stadium. The price inside the venue is 4 times the price outside and they won't let you bring your own.

In most places that's true. But I hear cinemas in the ACT and Melbourne are using chocolate sniffer dogs.

Still if you wrap your chocolate bar in marijuana or cocaine you'll be okay

So many cinemas ban you taking chocolate drinks ect.to make you buy from their confectionary Bar.
