I remember a Christmas one year which I had not been looking forward to, turning out to be great. My husband had had a row with his Mother and would not apologise to her and I would not go to another awful Christmas day at my Mother's place so instead we booked to go to a new Indian Restaurant which had opened recenrtly in our city. We were greeted at the door as if we were family and welcomed very warmly. We had a really good meal and all throughout were treated very warmly as if we were really family. This certainly made up for the disappointment of not being with our legitimate families.

and when I was a young child I used to get so excited about Christmas that I made myself so sick. I remember one Christmas Eve I was really bad and I ended up sleeping on my mums lap all night, in the living room. I woke early hours in the morning and I said to mum I wonder if Santa has been, she said go and have a peek, so I slid the sliding door open a little and peeked into the lounge room, low and behold there were presents galore. How did Santa get the presents in without waking us mum? because of the Christmas magic she replied. I hugged her tight and went back to sleep until it was time to wake up. This will be my first Christmas without my mum, she past away May 29, and this memory such a beautiful memory has just brought me to tears.
