In the 1960s there was a band called the Electric Prunes, maybe these days they could be The Eccentric Prunes.

Steely Dan = Seedy Dan, Jefferson Airplane = Jefferson Walking Frame, Genesis = Exodus, Beachboys = Beachedboys, Talking Heads = Talking Meds, The Rolling Stones = The Rolling Groans.
Also, The Who would just become 'Who?'

I said to a counter assistant about 20 years old, the other day, while pointing at the lacky band, around his wrist,

"So do you tell all the women that you're in a band?'

he just stared at me and said. "This is going to happen to me too one day too, isn't it?"

I replied "Yep, mate, I reckon, it will."
