Yuck!

Didn't know what is a booger, so had to look it up.

When importing a US joke, good idea to edit the text and
replace
US-centric words with their Australian equivalents.

It’s not an Americanism, the word has been used here the whole time I have lived in Australia - 50 years.

Never Trust those little ankle biters...
Dad came home from a hard day working and plonked in the lounge chair
The little 4yr old angel said," Daddy would you like a cup of tea>"
Of course I would angel. says Dad.
She returns with a little doll cup and saucer offering Dad a cup of tea
Dad Drinks it ... it is only water but the Angel gave it to him so he played along
After about 6 cups of tea, his wife came in from the kitchen and heard the little story of the tea
and She said "Honey, have you thought about where she gets the water? There is only one place that she can reach it."

Booger or boogie has been around for years.

most jokes can be if you don't see the funny side.
Boogie has been around since the 1950 (to my knowledge)
Common saying then was "Stop picking Boogies" when someone was caught picking their nose.

Wrong word; it's booger not boogie

Boogie maybe, but not booger.
That's the problem, the word booger in the text should have been edited
prior to publication and replaced with it's Australian equivalent.

Who doesn't know what a booger is??
I'm a fair dinkum Aussie from a fair dinkum Aussie family.
I'm 75 now and have known this my whole life.

Still doesn't mean that Aussies also use this word, just because you didn't know

I can't say that I agree with you. I have only ever heard it used in the dialogue of American television.
