YoYo​

Remember when Coca Cola sent teams of international yoyo champions to schools, local town halls and public venues right around Australia to demonstrate the various tricks you could do with your Russell yoyo?
There was a group from the Philippines, there were Mexicans wearing sombreros Japanese in kimonos and representatives from South America, travelling around from state to state, all with their own special yoyo techniques. There was ‘Walking the Dog’, Around the World, Rock the Baby, Three Leaf Clover and numerous others. This photo shows Atsuko Terahara, 22, of Tokyo, who was one of the five international yoyo champions here in 1970, revealing how to do the “bow tie” trick.
I still have my Coca Cola Russell yoyo but I can’t remember many of the tricks now. How about you?
