A young daughter brought tears to her family's eyes when she announced her intention to purchase the house where she had spent her childhood.
On Election Day, the auction for 13 Ellwood Avenue in Para Vista was held, and according to Ray White's chief auctioneer John Morris, the outcome was extremely heartwarming.
In her early years, Gemma lived at 13 Ellwood Avenue with her parents. From 1994 until 2012, she called that property her home, and she looked back on her time there with fondness.
After some time, her parents eventually had to sell the house, and the family was forced to relocate.
Now that she is all grown up, Gemma and her partner have an entire house to themselves; however, they were looking to make an additional investment in real estate and so are in the market for another home.
That is when she came across her childhood home again.

"As we were searching online, the house came up and I was surprised to see it listed for sale," Gemma said.
"We quickly spoke to our bank and decided to go for it. As my partner works away we weren’t able to come for the inspections, so I decided to go to the auction nevertheless."
"It was crazy. My parents were there too and it was a super emotional day for all of us," she added. Having lived in the house from 1994 to 2012, Gemma said she had fond memories of the home.
The 28-year-old woman was the only registered buyer at the auction, where there were 15 onlookers, and she purchased the home for $460,000, despite the fact that it had previously been sold for $292,000 in 2014.
The family home in Para Vista has a large, light-filled living room with a striking stained-glass front door, as well as a separate kitchen and dining room.
There are three spacious bedrooms, one bathroom, a powder room, and a large backyard with a series of verandas.
The home is situated near a variety of public and private schools, local parks and reserves, and the Tea Tree Plaza is only eight minutes away.

According to Mr Morris, the house is Gemma's first investment property, which she intends to renovate and rent out.
"It was just a lovely story," he added, "to give the property to someone who will love the home and has loved the home in the past."
The home in which we are raised has a huge impact on our lives. The love, security, and values that we receive as children help to shape who we become as adults.
Truly, our childhood home is a special place that is always remembered and cherished.
