You won't believe which influential person is grilling at Bunnings for a heartwarming cause!

Down Under, there’s a cultural phenomenon that brings communities together with the promise of sizzling sausages, tangy sauce, and fluffy white bread: the humble Bunnings sausage sizzle.

It is a tradition that has a special place in the hearts of Aussies.

But imagine turning up for your regular snag and finding none other than Caroline Kennedy, the United States Ambassador to Australia, manning the grill!

Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of the late US President John F. Kennedy, was recently spotted behind a Bunnings barbecue in Canberra, grilling sausages and serving up a storm.

But this wasn't just a casual weekend outing. Kennedy was there for a cause close to her heart—the annual Cancer Council fundraiser known as the 'S***box Rally'.

The S***box Rally is a unique Australian event that sees around 500 participants driving cars worth less than $1500 from Adelaide to Perth in April each year.

The goal? To raise funds for cancer research and support services.

It's a cause that resonated with Kennedy when she first heard about it upon her arrival in Canberra in 2022.

Fast forward two years, and Kennedy is not just a supporter but an active participant in the rally.

She's purchased an old Ford Falcon, affectionately named 'Moonshot', and is gearing up to take part in the 3000-kilometre journey.

The name 'Moonshot' is a tribute to President Joe Biden's cancer moonshot initiative and President Kennedy's race to the moon.

Kennedy's recent stint at the Bunnings barbecue was a fundraising effort for the upcoming rally. She was joined by the original barbecue-ers who first introduced her to the campaign.

'I'm so happy the people who first told me about S***box, who I bought my first sausage off two years ago, are here as well,' she said.

Kennedy's enthusiasm for the cause is palpable. She's met numerous Australian scientists working tirelessly to find a cure for cancer, and their dedication has left her hopeful.

'I think having met the people that I've met, I could not be more hopeful [that cancer will be cured],' she said.

Since her arrival in Australia in 2022, Kennedy has developed a reputation as a revhead, having attended the annual Summernats festival twice.

Her participation in the S***box Rally is another testament to her love for cars and her commitment to supporting worthy causes.

According to a 2022 report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, it is estimated that between 2022 and 2031, a total of around 1.7 million cases of cancer will be diagnosed as the Australian population continues to increase, with more Australians living to older ages.

Among them, Collingwood President, Jeff Browne, shocked the Australian football world as he revealed his battle against cancer. You can read more about it here.

The S***box Rally is a unique Australian event that combines adventure, camaraderie, and philanthropy.

The rally sees participants driving cars worth less than $1500 across some of Australia's most challenging terrains, all in the name of raising funds for the Cancer Council.

Along the way, participants experience the rugged beauty of Australia's landscapes, the warmth of its communities, and the satisfaction of contributing to a worthy cause.

It's about ordinary people doing extraordinary things, pushing their limits, and making a difference.

It's a reminder that when it comes to fighting cancer, every bit helps, and everyone can play a part.

An "influential" Yank....so what! Just another mouth almighty who thinks the world revolves around the United States of Arrogance.

I'd rather have the Icelandic ambassador than this head on a stick.

Her participation would give this 'charity' fund raiser more exposure than anyone else in Canberra could give (in particular the Iceland ambassador [technically another bankrupt totally dependent on EU money]. Adelaide to Perth in April will/can still be damn hot, $1500 s#!tbox would most likely have no a/c, that would be the challenge for most these days.
