You won't believe what this Aussie woman found in the outback, worth a whopping $7,000!

Ah, the great Australian outback—a place filled with adventure, excitement, and mystery! As we've seen in our own lifetime or even heard in tales, there's often good fortune hidden beneath the vast expanse of red soil and rugged terrain. And this is a story that adds to our collection of thrilling finds!

Tyler Mahoney, a 25-year-old professional gold digger and star of the Discovery Channel show Gold Rush, had an extraordinary day treasure hunting recently when she stumbled upon a chunk of gold worth over $7,000.

Growing up in Western Australia, Tyler is no stranger to the art of prospecting, as she comes from a family of fourth-generation prospectors.

She shares her passion for this age-old vocation with her family, who are all a part of their mining tenement located just 20 minutes from the famous mining hub of Kalgoorlie.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Tyler set out with her trusty metal detector to explore her family's mining area. And what a fantastic find she made! Tyler uncovered a two ounce nugget of gold hidden deep beneath the ground, a coveted 'bonus nugget' as she calls it.

Of course, she couldn't resist sharing her shimmering discovery with the world, cheekily challenging her followers on a now-viral video: 'There's $6,000 laying on the floor. Can anyone see it?'

Since that video, the price of gold has risen tremendously, which meant Tyler received an astounding $7,300 for the nugget.

Gold prices are still soaring, currently valued at $2907.11 AUD per troy ounce.

It was, as she put it, 'Not a bad day's work.'

Now, you might be thinking that discovering a hunk of precious metal just lying on the ground is a walk in the park.

But Tyler dispels that illusion, revealing that her find involved a 'scrape and detect operation' that required some intense effort and expertise.

'We found that one six foot under by that point,' she explained to Yahoo News Australia.

It's worth mentioning that Tyler's discovery wasn't her largest one—she once found a five ounce nugget—and her parents have even found 12 ounce nuggets. However, the bigger treasures are becoming harder to find as we approach 130 years into Kalgoorlie's Gold Rush.

'Mostly big ones are getting a lot rarer,' says Tyler. 'Ones like that we maybe find once a month... Sometimes, if we're in a really good patch, we could be finding them every day. But in a worse-off area, we might not find one for six months.'

Undeterred, the thrill of the hunt keeps her going: 'Finding a gold nugget is such an adrenaline rush. It's like when you win the lottery or something, and getting to do that every day is pretty cool.'
