You won't believe how easy it is to clean ceiling fans with this ‘miracle’ buy from BIG W

All of us here at the SDC know how tedious a job household cleaning can be.

Cleaning ceiling fans is especially difficult, time-consuming and often dangerous, moreso if the fan is placed way up high and can't be reached easily.

But according to one social media user, a 'miracle' buy at BIG W makes cleaning ceiling fans a bit easier.

She said that she was able to clean quickly and without much hassle using the Blade Maid Fan Cleaner.

'This is a game changer,' she said.

The gadget, which you can buy at BIG W for $39.95, is essentially a broom-like cleaning tool with a microfibre head that’s specifically designed to remove dust and all sorts of build-up from 'all sides of the fan blade at once'.

She said: 'So quick to clean my fans today.’

'They are cheaper online if you don’t mind waiting, but I wanted to get mine done.'

Many users were keen to get their hands on the product, with one saying: 'I need to go to BIG W!'

While another said: 'How cool are these?'

'Just ordered one online—I’m always getting up and using anti-bacterial wipes on the blades. This will save me time and my back. [Thank] you!' A third added.

Users who have already purchased the product also expressed their praise for the cleaning tool.

'Love mine,' one commented.

Another added: 'Yes, l bought one from BIG W a few weeks ago—it’s fantastic!’

'Best thing I ever bought. Makes it a lot easier and quicker. Absolutely love it,' a third wrote.

There were some who were critical about the product and said that the same job could be done by a 'damp pillowcase for free'.

However, others responded that it was not an option for many homeowners.

'Great for [people with] disabilities who can’t climb a ladder anymore,' one said.

'Safer option. Thank you for sharing.'

In another story, Professional cleaner Kacie Stephens, owner of The Big Clean Co in Melbourne, shared the five most common cleaning mistakes people make at home.

The first mistake is using too much mop water when washing the floors, as excessive amounts can ruin wood flooring and leave spots on the tile.

Another common mistake is going overboard in terms of the amount of product used when cleaning. While you may want your floors ultra-clean, too much product can make them feel sticky.

I think this is the best thing I’ve seen in ages. Saves getting on a ladder and struggling with buckets and cloths. I’m going to recommend to my elderly neighbour she’s just had fans installed in her unit.😁👍
