A Woolworths shopper has taken to social media to raise an alarming "choking hazard" concern over a popular snack.
The Tasmanian consumer claims in a Facebook post that she discovered a large foreign item — a thick piece of red rubber — inside a Fodmapped For You Oven Baked Chocolate Maple Bar.
The concerned customer also shared a photo of the object, describing its length as "long as two keys on a keyboard".

In her post, the shopper said that other customers should be warned about the alarming incident.
She wrote: “Don’t care about a refund, just don’t want anyone to choke!”
The shopper also noted that despite raising the complaint three days before she took the matter online, her local store still hadn’t removed the product from the shelves, meaning that it was still available to purchase.
According to a spokesperson for Fodmapped For You, the company is currently in coordination with its supplier to investigate the issue.
“We were made aware of this issue via a message from [the customer] on our Facebook page and we raised it urgently with our contract manufacturer who took immediate action to investigate the source of the issue,” the spokesperson said.
“While that was being undertaken, we responded to the customer on the same day and offered replacement stock which, from her response, seemed to be acceptable."
“In addition, we would include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for [the customer] to send the foreign object so we can evaluate and investigate this further. We still await the return of the object in question and will be going back to [the customer] with the results of our investigation in due course.”
A Woolworths representative has also been in contact with the customer and is currently coordinating with Fodmapped For You to address the issue.
So, there you have it, folks! While we are aware this matter is still being investigated, we recommend checking your snacks for foreign objects to prevent any choking accidents in case a similar incident happens to you. That could be as simple as snapping the snack in half before taking a bite.
