Woolworths shopper’s “sad-yet-hilarious” discovery in a pack of Woolworths’ Jam Drop Biscuits makes the rounds on social media

We've all had our fair share of bad days at work (at least back when we were still part of the workforce).

But it seems one Woolworths bakery worker may have taken their bad day out on a tray of Jam Drops.

A shopper recently discovered a sad face made out of jam on one of the biscuits, and shared the amusing discovery on social media.

TikTok user @alwaysinmydressinggown shared a video of the "sad" yet hilarious find, joking about how one employee may seem to be having a rough time at work.

“Clearly someone hates their job!” she said in the video.

It should be noted that Jam Drops usually come with a large blob of jam, adorning the top of the biscuit instead of a smiley face or in this case, a sad face.

While it's not clear if the baker was intentional in their creation, or if it was simply a case of getting a little too creative with the jam, it's definitely a funny find.

We hope the baker had a better day after this mishap! Or at least had a laugh about their sad-faced jam drop going viral!

For those of you who are looking to bake these delectable biscuits, we've got you covered!

We'd like to share with you this simple recipe for making this beloved snack.

Ingredients:

  • 125g Butter
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam

Method:

  1. In a mixer, mix butter, sugar, eggs, and self-raising flour until all of the ingredients are well combined.
  2. Flour your counter and knead the dough until they form a solid shape.
  3. Line your baking tray with parchment paper before shaping the dough portions into biscuits and placing them on the tray.
  4. Using a spoon, press the centre of the biscuits to create a "well" for the jam.
  5. Place a spoonful of jam on top of the biscuits before baking them at 180C for 15 minutes.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
