A video circulating on social media has gotten a lot of attention for its claim that Woolworths has brought back a classic Aussie treat, sending fans into a frenzy.
Receiving over one million views in just a few days, the video claimed that Sunnyboys — a type of ice block that was first introduced in the 1970s and was a hugely popular treat among kids (and adults) up until it ceased production in 2016 — are making a comeback on the market.

The clip also included captions telling fans to “run, don’t walk” to their local Woolies store, prompting many to think that the claim was legitimate.
A number of Aussies expressed their keenness to see their “favourite tuck shop snack” back in stores.
One fan said: “Childhood is back!”
“Don’t play with my heart like this,” another quipped.

Not everyone is convinced about the claim, however, as some questioned its legitimacy, asking the poster to show the item’s use-by date in a follow-up video.
“We’re going to need more proof than that mate,” one person wrote.
Searches for official Sunnyboys stock at Woolworths has come up empty and the company has now confirmed that the video’s claims are false and that it is not selling the treats in stores or online.
It’s been six years since Sunnyboy fans were dealt the crushing blow of the beloved tuck shop treat being discontinued.
But it seems that time has not healed the wound, with die-hard fans still holding out hope for the sweet snack’s return.
Ebay listings for unopened packs of Sunnyboys are currently going for as much as $250, despite being well past their expiration date.
And there are several Change.org petitions from Aussies demanding that manufacturer Daily Juice Co. bring Sunnyboys back.

The company has remained firm in its decision to keep Sunnyboys discontinued, however, citing a “sustained reduction in consumer demand”.
“No other products are affected by this deletion, and consumers will still be able to purchase all our other popular brands, including Zooper Dooper,” the company announced.
Well, with the recent turn of events, we think it's safe to assume that we might be seeing these treats back on the market as fans proved their support for its comeback.
What are your thoughts on this? Are you looking forward to getting your hands on this nostalgic treat if they become available again for purchase?
