Woolworths’ mini supermarket toy range, a big hit for the grandkids

With the season of Christmas and gift-giving just around the corner, parents and grandparents alike are rushing to figure out what to give to their young ones!

On October 6, the supermarket giant rolled out their new set of toys for kids. The set includes a cute miniature replica of the grocery store itself, complete with a register, a scanner, and comes with 47 more accessories. Even a functioning calculator! This also includes a Woolworths sign and the brown paper bag the store introduced earlier this year.

The mini supermarket is normally available for $60 but some keen shoppers have availed it at its introductory price of just $40.

The toy set is measuring at 750mm high and 460mm wide, and is perfect for kids aged 3 years and older.

“They’re already proving to be a popular gift with customers and we expect them to be a big hit this Christmas,” a Woolworths spokesperson told kidspot.com.au, as seen from this article by Melissa Wilson.

There are also other toys that come with the toy range such as the mini kids Woolworths Shopping Trolley that retails for $30, Woolworths Mini Reusable Shopping Bag that comes with 30 pieces of accessories and retails for $10, and a Woolworths Mini Basket that comes with 24 pieces of accessories and also retails for $10.

With the set being high in demand, shoppers have taken it to Facebook to post about their local finds. But managing to get the full set was not as easy as they thought.

One shopper said on Facebook, “I got the set for my daughter tonight, all I can say is if you see them and want them, don’t sit on it they are selling out so fast.”

Other parents who were able to buy the set for their kids also commented. “I was able to get my hands on them, the kids are over the moon!” Another added, “I got all 3 parts to it today for my son and he loves them!”

In the article written by Katrina Micallef, Woolworths told Yahoo! Lifestyle that even though the range was only launched recently, it is already very popular with shoppers, particularly those who buy it for their kids and grandkids.

The toy set is available for both in-store and online purchase. Don’t miss out and head to your local Woolworths today!
