Faustyna further claimed that she has post-traumatic amnesia from a 'German paedophile' who had abused her while she was growing up, and said she has begun to recognise physical similarities between herself and Madeleine – including a distinct brown smudge on each girl's right iris.
When asked how she found this information out, Faustyna said she first heard of these revelations from her grandmother a few months prior.
She also has a few connections to the notorious case itself.
Faustyna has shared the police sketch of a man whom witnesses saw carrying a child in Portugal the night Madeleine disappeared, writing on Instagram, 'I recognise this person... It looks very similar to my abuser.'
On top of this, she claimed that Kate and Gerry McCann had agreed to a DNA test – though the couple has yet to make any sort of public statement regarding this.
The couple last publicly addressed the years-long search for their daughter in a January 2023 statement which said they would not forget nor give up but will be heading 'into the new year with continued determination'.
Francisco Marco, a private detective linked to the Madeleine McCann case, has cast doubt on Faustyna's claims, saying 'it does not add up'.
Marco is the owner of Metodo 3, the private detective agency hired by Kate and Gerry McCann.
'I don't think it's her,' he said of Faustyna.
