Woman calls police on herself during car theft attempt
A woman in Florida, USA has been arrested after she bizarrely called the police to report herself for stealing a car from a dealership, claiming she was trying to make the theft 'legal'.
Christy Turman, 37, told the Lee County Sheriff's Office dispatcher that she was actively trying to steal a car that wasn't hers and wanted to file a report about it. She explained to deputies that she was 'training' for a game of Black Ops, believing that calling 911 would somehow legitimise her actions.
Turman was arrested on the scene and is now facing trespassing charges. Authorities noted that while her approach to 'legalising' a crime was creative, it still didn’t change the law.
The incident has sparked conversation online about the intersection of gaming and real-world decision-making. What do you think — can intense gaming experiences sometimes blur the lines between fantasy and reality?
