Woman called out for 'fatphobic' response to new garden items from Woolies

One social media user didn’t receive the reaction she’d expected when hundreds of users on social media began to criticise her. The woman made a video mocking Woolworths new garden range featuring plus-sized statues.

The shopper uploaded the rather 'curse-laden' video on TikTok in which she peruses a variety of garden ornaments, many of which featured plus-sized bodies posing in different yoga positions.

A confused expression can be seen on the woman's face as she browses the gardening section of the store in the video while she asks, 'What the f*ck?' when she comes across the plus-sized collection.

'I need answers. I don't get it,' she wrote in the caption of the video. 'What are these, and who would buy them? Look at that. Look at this one. What the f*ck?'

The statues, which cost $16 each and can be found in Woolworths, depict female bodies in a variety of yoga poses.

Since then, the short video has been watched nearly 30,000 times, but the response was probably not what she was expecting.

Many people commented on the TikTok video, asking the woman why she had an 'issue' with the decorations.

Several of them also commented that they thought the ornaments were fine and that they fit in with the rest of the garden decors perfectly. Some said they'd even buy one for themselves if given the chance.

'They are magnificent; shifting our mindset about these bodies is long overdue,' one person wrote in the comments section. Another agreed and added, 'Body positivity. Every size and shape is beautiful.'

A lot of TikTok users also said that the woman was 'judgemental' about the shape of the bodies and asked if she would still be upset if the statues showed women with 'smaller' bodies.

'You're being fatphobic. Those are just some queens doing yoga,' one of the viewers said. A second one added to the comment, saying: 'You sound super judgemental. What's wrong with body positivity?'

Meanwhile, a third user mocked the woman and said, 'Love how she thought most people would agree with her.'

It got nothing to do with the size of the statues , I don't see them as plus Size they are just bloody hideous statues if the were thin, plus size , short ,tall they would still would be hideous

I don't think she was saying about the larger size I think she was saying they are ugly and also how they were posing.

Just not for the garden , actually there isn't a place for them

Why do people get enraged or offended over not much. It's time to calm down everyone

These have been around for years. I don’t find them offensive. The body is a beautiful thing, just go to any art gallery and count the amount of times the human body has been painted or sculpted. Why shouldn’t a women be sexy just because she has a voluptuous figure, I’m more offended at the fact that this woman even pointed this out.
As long as a person is caring, understanding, compassionate and just plain old nice, I don’t care what their size, colour or creed is.
Life is too short to carry on like this, want to know what upsets me and what I find offensive? It’s all the BS that going on around the world, the way children are being brain washed into having doubts about their sex, it’s about the children that are being Exploited, abused and starving, here in Australia and throughout the world. GET A LIFE.

I see and read a lot of stuff that I don't agree with, or find confusing, or offensive. Do I get on to social media and jump up and down about it? No. I consider myself a well rounded ADULT. I understand that one mans elixir is another mans poison, so I look, discard, and get on with my day.:rolleyes:

😂 that's another stupid trend the sheeple follow, do they think they look tough with tattoos ? Yuk, ooh all my friends have them I might get one or two as well, what about the poison that goes into the blood from the ink, or as the aging skin gets more wrinkled, I like a tatoo free body
