G’Day, I’m Roger, £10 Pom from 1965 , lived in Sydney and Melbourne, met a Tasmanian lass in London when l went back for a holiday in 1975, came back in 1976 got spliced and lived in Tasmania ever since.
I was in the British and Norwegian merchant navy’s in 1959 up to on and off 1965 , came to OZ a few times, that’s what made me emigrate here in the first place.
Two sons, and married 45 years.
Had various jobs throughout the years, many good and many not so good, that’s life, retired 10 years now, love it, two grandsons.

Welcome Roger!

What was your favourite job? :)
My favourite job was working as a National Cash Register outside technician, started in London, then Sydney then Melbourne, sent to Wellington NZ to start converting cash registers to decimal, onto Christchurch, back to Melbourne, then back to London to start on their change to decimal plus repairs to shop cash registers, all mechanical back then, not anymore.

I am also a ten pound pom, came out with my parents back in 1963 as a 18 month old.

That's so cool! I love it when jobs allow you to travel. What made you leave it eventually? Was it when it was no longer mechanical?
