The Australian-born celebrity chef, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Lindsay Price and their two children, reflected on his past interactions with Trump during an interview.
Speaking with Charlie Cotton from a gossip website, Stone recalled first meeting Trump in 2010 when he appeared on The Apprentice, long before Trump entered politics.
‘At that point he had no political aspirations, he was doing a reality show running a real estate business,’ Stone said.
‘He was outspoken and had a lot to say about lots of things.’
‘You didn’t ever really think he would.’
Stone admitted he was surprised when Trump launched his political career and won the presidency in 2016.
‘Most people that want to become the President or Prime Minister of a country start their life in politics,’ he said.
‘Trump had nothing to do with politics until he decided he was going to.’
‘It’s bizarre, it’s nuts.’
Despite the unexpected turn in Trump's career, Stone said he would be willing to cook for him if given the chance.
‘I would accept the challenge for sure,’ he said.
‘If I was going to sort of lean into Australia I would bring him some beef, I know he likes steak.’
This wouldn’t be the first time Stone and his wife had been in Trump’s orbit.
In 2019, they attended a State Dinner at the White House in honour of then-Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
More recently, the couple faced a terrifying ordeal when wildfires tore through their Los Angeles neighbourhood.
