What did Jamie Lee Curtis say on the red carpet that has everyone talking?

Jamie Lee Curtis is no stranger to the spotlight, but her recent red carpet appearance at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards in Los Angeles has set the internet abuzz for all the wrong reasons.

The beloved Hollywood actress, known for her roles in classics like Freaky Friday and Halloween, found herself at the centre of a social media storm after an unexpected outburst that left fans and onlookers scratching their heads.

The Las Culturistas Culture Awards, held at the historic Orpheum Theatre, is not your typical Hollywood affair.

Created by comedians and podcasters Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, the event is a tongue-in-cheek celebration of pop culture, with quirky categories like 'Woman of a Certain Age Award' and 'Best Title for the Next Bridget Jones.' The atmosphere is usually light-hearted and irreverent—perfect for a bit of fun on the red carpet.

But things took a turn when Jamie Lee Curtis interrupted Yang and Rogers during a playful interview with Vulture.

The pair were in the middle of reciting iconic movie lines—Yang was channeling Julia Roberts in Erin Brockovich with the memorable, 'I’m not talkin’ to you, b****!'—when Curtis suddenly appeared, looking visibly agitated.

'We’re quoting Julia Roberts,' Rogers quickly clarified, perhaps worried that Curtis thought the line was aimed at her. But Curtis, undeterred, stepped between the comedians and the camera, arms outstretched, and delivered a stern directive: 'Bring the whole f****** thing down.'

What made the moment even more awkward was that Curtis seemed unaware she was addressing the very hosts and organisers of the event she was attending.

Yang, quick on his feet, responded with a quip: 'You’re going to hate this show then. We’re going to be pitching to the rafters.' Rogers added, 'Maybe you could bring it up?'

The exchange, captured on video and quickly shared across social media, left viewers divided. Was Curtis joking? Was she genuinely annoyed? The internet, as always, had opinions.

'The audacity to interrupt someone’s interview at their own award show just to shush them is insane,' one social media user wrote.

Another commented, 'Doing this to [Rogers and Yang] at their own event? Repulsive.' Others dubbed Curtis 'the ultimate Karen,' a label that’s dogged her after a string of recent controversies.

This isn’t the first time Jamie Lee Curtis has found herself in hot water. In August last year, she publicly apologised after criticising Marvel at Comic-Con.

Earlier this year, she sparked a bizarre feud with young actor Bella Ramsey over a joke at the Critics Choice Awards.

And in January, she faced backlash for comparing the devastation of Los Angeles wildfires to the war in Gaza, a comment many found insensitive.

While Curtis has often been praised for her candour and willingness to speak her mind, these recent incidents have some fans wondering if she’s crossed a line from outspoken to out of touch.
