From 28 May until stores closed on 3 June, shoppers were able to earn 20 times the face value of Apple gift cards in Everyday Rewards points.
The deal applied to all denominations and was available exclusively in-store, with a cap of 10 gift cards per customer per day.
Each gift card could be redeemed through Apple’s own store, meaning buyers could earn thousands of points on tech purchases they were already planning.
Those who picked up $2,000 worth of Apple gift cards for a new iPhone, for example, walked away with 40,000 Everyday Rewards points.
When converted to Qantas Points using the standard method, that equated to a solid 20,000-point boost.
‘This is a great opportunity to score extra Qantas Points – and hence free flights and other goodies–for anyone thinking of a new iPhone or Mac.’
Although the offer returned regularly throughout the year—appearing eight times in 2024—it still generated strong interest among rewards members.

The promotion was last spotted in April and also ran in January, showing Woolworths’ pattern of rotating it every few months.
Woolworths did not offer the promotion online, meaning customers had to visit physical stores to take advantage.

One hypothetical scenario suggested that if a customer purchased 70 $500 cards—totalling $35,000—they would have received 700,000 Everyday Rewards points.
That could then convert to 350,000 Qantas Points, which was enough for a Business Class round-the-world oneworld Classic Reward flight.
‘Obviously, I don't imagine too many people are planning to spend $35,000 on new Apple gear this week (or any week).’
But even a single high-ticket purchase like an iPhone 16 Pro with 512GB storage, priced at $2,149, could earn a hefty bonus.
‘If you spent $2,000 on your phone using this gift card hack, you'd end up with a healthy 20,000 Qantas Points.’
