‘My savings at BIG W,’ she wrote in a post on the Markdown Addicts Australia Facebook group, along with a photo demonstrating how she managed to get $1,019,12 worth of goods for just $112.85.
‘My 10-year-old and 12-year-old girls ran riot. The shoes and clothes! They had a good haul.’
‘My son got some shoes and shorts. Rest basically on the tweens.’
Several other customers reported similar price reductions on the items they bought in the store. However, not every customer has reported success getting the deals.
To enjoy BIG W's flash sale with price reductions on selected items, shoppers need to know the secret.
One savvy customer explained that there are only reduced items with price tags made using a specific colour.
‘Guys, check out your closest BIG W and scan everything that has a yellow ticket because chances are it’s $2!’ they wrote.
With such an enormous sale event, it's no surprise that there have been reports of conflicts among shoppers.
Take, for example, a recent incident where one shopper boasted about scoring an impressive haul of sneakers and clothes for just $56, amounting to a savings of $812.
Some other shoppers criticised her, accusing her of ‘hoarding’ and preventing others from accessing the discounted items, which are only available while supplies last.
Despite the backlash, the shopper defended herself, explaining that she intended to donate the items to her local charity.
