Waltons

What a blast from the past!

Remember when the Waltons man came knocking to collect payments? Many young Aussie families filled their homes with stylish furniture thanks to those time-payment plans. Waltons wasn't just a store—it was a destination with fashion, gadgets, and even a place to meet and grab a bite.

Founded in the '60s, it grew rapidly before being bought by Alan Bond in the '80s. But things went downhill fast after the stock market crash, leading to the stores being sold off and rebranded.

Yes, I remember going to a Walton‘s shopping centre in Sydney with my mum back in the day.
I also remember a man coming to the front door, but I’m not exactly sure what that was for!

My dad was a Walton's man, he used to collect for payments. I was amazing the number of mothers that paid for their children's accounts. When my dad had to go to a area out from the city my mum would go with him and they would have a picnic lunch, and some of the clients would invite her in for a cup of tea which she found very lovely.

Just look at the number of Australian built cars in the parking area, all gone now, and not just Waltons.
Yes and we have the liberal government to thank for, that John Howard sold us out and liberals since just, kept going we used to have a strong industrial world all gone. And no one seems to want to bring it back.
