Vintage Australian ice blocks and ice creams

Ah, the delightful treats that brought joy to Aussies’ childhoods! These frozen treats were more than just desserts—they were symbols of carefree days and childhood adventures. How many of these delectable icy delights do you remember? Share your fondest stories of enjoying these refreshing treats in the comments.

Choc Blocks were like yummy Hearts, Triple Treats were good for the different textures in one icy pole, Monaco Bars were combination heaven and I quite liked Splices. Of course Drumsticks/Cornettos need a mention and Golden Gaytimes.

Although not an icy pole, Poly Waffles should never have been discontinued imo. Still waiting for their return! While we're on the subject, we used to be able to buy the best Turkish Delight bars from service stations, for next to nothing, with dense jelly and whole peanuts. Fantastic!

I stayed in Brisbane on a working holiday and loved Jelly Tips. Paul's Dairy made a good variety of ice creams, and in WA Peters made only a few.

I didn’t see the Have-a- Heart. Back in the ‘50s at lunchtime on Sunday’s, the ice cream man used to come around with his horse and cart . A Have-a-Heart was our dessert .
