I discovered only recently that I have ELEVEN odd socks, how weird is that? I feel that there must be a parallel universe somewhere, made up of odd socks pens, remotes, buttons, pieces of paper with all sorts of important information on them and odd keys ... Somehow a gap in our reality forms instantaneously and they all drop through it, instantly lost to the abyss ... or it sure does feel like it sometimes...

If Washing machines and Dryers are responsible for lost socks, then the least that they could do is take BOTH of the same socks, rather than putting us through the tedium of trying to locate that ONE lost sock.

Have you checked your washing machne / dryer there might be a loose or spare foot caught and it grabs a sock during the spin cycle. I have certainly heard a lot of spin today.
