Video of McDonald's thickshake secret might make you rethink your sweet tooth!

When it comes to indulging in a sweet treat, many have fond memories of sipping on a creamy, dreamy thickshake from Maccas.

It's a guilty pleasure that's hard to resist, especially on a hot day or when you're in need of a little pick-me-up.

However, a recent revelation might just change the way you feel about these beloved beverages.

A stomach-churning secret has been exposed by a McDonald's employee, and it's enough to make your skin crawl.

In a video that has made the rounds on social media, user @tel2raww shared footage of what they claim to be expired milk being poured into a thickshake machine at a McDonald's restaurant.

The clip is accompanied by a caption that suggests the employee was instructed by their general manager to use the sour dairy product as a cost-saving measure.

The video shows chunks of what appears to be coagulated milk—resembling cottage cheese—being squeezed from a plastic bottle into the machine.

The text overlaying the video reads, ‘POV: When your GM tells you to put the expired milk in the milkshake machine.’

The employee further commented in the caption that their manager told them to do this to try and ‘save money’ but believed they were ‘trying to kill somebody’ with this practice.

The reaction from viewers was one of horror and disgust.

‘This is actually insane,’ one user commented.

Another was left speechless, and the only comment they could make was, ‘Woaaaah, um, huh?’

‘This can actually kill people! There’s a thing called dairy gas allergies, and the gas comes from expiring, which is also a dairy acid allergy, which comes from expired milk again,’ a third added.

Others wondered why someone would adhere to their manager's directions for a task that seemed so unhygienic.

‘Why did you do it anyway?’ one questioned. ‘That's more insane than the GM. The stupidity.’

Meanwhile, users who said they worked at McDonald's chimed in with a range of opinions.

‘I've been working at McDonald’s for almost three years, and I didn’t know about this until my manager told me a while ago. They do this so they are not wasting the product and money,’ an alleged employee shared.

‘We do that but NOT when they’re that bad, just like [a] day off, then we clean them out the same night so it never goes bad, just nothing gets wasted,’ another explained.

‘I won’t eat McDonald’s ice cream anymore because when I worked at McDonald’s, the machine only got cleaned once every three months. The GM would reset the timer that tells you to clean it,’ a third said.

It's important to note that these incidents are reported to have occurred in the United States, and practices can vary greatly between different franchises and locations.

However, the very thought that such unsanitary and potentially dangerous practices could occur is alarming.

Really who would know what goes on behind the senses.
Many many years ago l worked in a small retail shop. When us girls had to go through the fruit and vegetables and what we thought was not fit for sale the manager would take fruit from the bin and put it back on the shelf. A few times the fridges and freezers broke down he made us take all the stock out and place it into trolleys and put in the big freezers out back to refreeze and when the freezers were fixed refill with the stock again. I was a teen at the time and you could not say anything to this man, or there is the door kid. I was absolutely mortified. I use to get anxiety wondering which customers would get sick from this and not know the source of where it came from.
Like l suggested who would know what goes on.

Kind regards to all Vicki

I don't like McDonald's at the best of times, but this is seriously dangerous for people with allergies but for everyone who drinks this. There should be regular quality inspections going on in these fast food chains. I know in some restaurants they used to have quality contol inspectors, don't they do that anymore?

When working in my first job in a grocery shop when tea and sugar were in large garbage size bins and had to be weighed out there was an old mans whose nose dripped into the bin as he weighed sugar out. Then there was a time when someone left the lid off the tea bin and the cat did a whoopsey in it and just the top part where it had happened was scrapped off.No-one knows what goes on behind the scenes.
