URGENT: Popular range of dips recalled from supermarkets for 'allergy concerns'

Due to the undeclared presence of milk in a popular range of dips, the dips have been urgently recalled from supermarkets as a precautionary measure. Consumption of the product may result in an allergic reaction or anaphylaxis in individuals who are sensitive to milk.
Independent food retailers such as IGA in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia have been selling the product up until recently.
Chris' Homestyle Plant-Based Corn Relish Dairy Free Vegan 200g Dip and Chris' Homestyle Plant-Based Spring Onion Dairy Free Vegan 200g Dip have been urgently recalled by Cantire Foods Pty Ltd.
The date markings on the recalled products are as follows:
- Corn relish flavour: Use By 23 JUL 22 & 11 AUG 22
- Spring onion flavour: Use By 01 JUN 22 & 02 AUG 22

Milk allergy is an abnormal immune system reaction to milk and milk-containing products. The most common cause of milk allergy is cow's milk, but milk from sheep, goats, buffalo, and other mammals can also cause a reaction.
Consumers with a milk allergy or intolerance may experience an adverse reaction if they consume this product; therefore, FSANZ advises consumers to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

You or your loved ones may experience symptoms of a milk allergy anywhere between a few minutes to a few hours after consuming milk or products containing milk. These symptoms, however, vary from person to person.
The following are examples of potential immediate signs and symptoms of a milk allergy:
- Hives
- Wheezing
- Itching or tingling feeling around the lips or mouth
- Swelling of the lips, tongue or throat
- Coughing or shortness of breath
- Vomiting
- Loose stools or diarrhea, which may contain blood
- Abdominal cramps
- Runny nose
- Watery eyes
- Colic, in babies
If you or a member of your family experiences symptoms of a milk allergy soon after consuming milk or products that contain milk, you should consult a physician or an allergist. If at all possible, visit your doctor during the allergic reaction to aid the doctor in making a diagnosis.
However, if you or anyone you know develops signs or symptoms of anaphylaxis, a potentially fatal allergic reaction that constricts the airways and makes it difficult or impossible to breathe, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
Always make sure to watch out for your own safety, folks!
