Two Newfoundlanders
Two Newfies boarded a Trans-Canada Airlines four piston-engined DC4 flying from St. John's to Montreal. Half an hour into the flight the PA system announces that the outer starboard engine has packed it in, but not to worry, as the plane will remain airborne on three engines. The only problem is that the arrival in Montreal will be delayed by half an hour.
Another twenty minutes, and the same announcement, only this time it is the inner port engine that is kaput, and again another half hour delay in landing.
Another thirty minutes and the pilot advises the passengers that the port outer engine has conked out, but that there is no danger as this plane is capable of reaching Montreal on only one engine. However, the delay this time will be even greater.
"Lard Jayzus." says the first Newfy "Lets hope the fourth engine don't quit on us, or we'll be up here all night."
