INGREDIENTS

  • Cake mix
  • 2x bananas (mashed)
For the best results, look for ALDI's Banana Cake Mix - or a similar substitute. Otherwise, the Butter Cake Mix from Coles or Woolworths also works great in a pinch.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven temperature to 180 degrees, and mash bananas in a large mixing bowl until very soft
  2. Add dry cake mix to the bowl and mix well.
  3. Grease muffin tins or cake tin, and scoop in the batter.
  4. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until a toothpick skewered in the middle comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool, then remove from the tin, and enjoy.
It’s that easy!

You might like to add any chocolate chips you have on hand or some cinnamon sugar–the possibilities are endless.

In a recent version of this cake, I used the Woolworths Butter Cake Mix (made according to the packet instructions), two mashed bananas, cinnamon sugar and crushed walnuts. It received rave reviews from my household and was fantastic warmed up with a cuppa.

I would love to hear from you if you try this recipe. Do you have any flavour modifications you would make? I’m interested to hear your feedback.
