TV stars mourn beloved companion in touching social media tributes

Beloved cast members often leave a lasting impression on audiences—but sometimes it’s the unexpected stars who touch hearts the most.

A recent wave of tributes has shone a spotlight on a familiar face from Home and Away, stirring memories for longtime fans.

The emotional outpouring has brought to light a special bond shared behind the scenes.

Tributes poured in across social media following the death of Home and Away’s beloved animal actor, Buddy the dog.

Buddy appeared on the long-running soap between 2016 and 2019 as part of the Morgan family household.

His character was often seen alongside Justin (James Stewart), Brody (Jackson Heywood), Mason (Orpheus Pledger) and Tori (Penny McNamee).

His owner, Shelley, shared the news with Buddy’s nearly 7000 social media followers.

‘I have lost my Buddy,’ she wrote.

‘We did so many fun things together over the years. His time on Home and Away was definitely the highlight for him and me.’

‘He loved going more than anything. We had a final trip to the beach planned but he just didn’t make it.’

‘He left peacefully at home in his bed while I held him. I have lost a big piece of my heart.’

James Stewart, who played Buddy’s on-screen owner, remembered him fondly.

‘You were my side kick in so many scenes…an incredible scene partner…always knew your lines…always hit your mark…and you could sniff out chicken wherever it was!’

‘I love ya mate.’

Penny McNamee added: ‘Beautiful Buddy, such a huge part of our Morgan Family. Thank you for sharing him with us, Shelley.’

Sophie Dillman also shared her condolences, saying: ‘Sending you so much love. The goodest boy ever.’

Seriously they call the dog an “actor” and if it was a girl dog would they call it an “actress”

My gosh, is that still on the box?
I only watched that when I was visiting my Mother, she watched it more.
That was around when Bobby worked at the boat shed and ended up drowning. Alf had his flaming shop with the flaming kids. Fletchers ran something with little Sally there and then a woman actor in real life left H and A, went to The USA to do acting there. then H and A got worse from there and so Mother stopped watching.
