Hello everyone. You may have seen the odd comment from me before but here goes.
I am a great believer in cash and not forcing those who are not computer savvy to have to use them as they often get scammed. As shown recently when there is a flaw in the computer system large parts of the system fall over costing businesses millions. Cash does not go off when the power fails either. By now I’m surprised that more businesses don’t have back up generators! But we are now being sent most bills by email and hoping we don’t lose them amongst all the spam or forget to pay them. If we want a paper version you have to pay for it!
This is all wrong.
Service is also on its way out. Cashless counters and serve your self checkouts while someone is paid to watch you do their job. It’s ridiculous and robbing our youth of their part time introduction to work. I shop at a Romeo’s Foodland that has only 1-2 self checkouts for the perpetually rushing people who can’t wait in a queue of any length. If there are a lot of us waiting I ask for more checkouts to be opened and they generally are done within a few minutes. That is customer service. The mostly young people who work there are polite and helpful, especially for those of us who cannot reach things on high shelves! I give them 9/10 for their products.
But even there the cost of food has risen far more than inflation. So let’s keep cash by using it and tell Woolworths we don’t like them by not shopping there unless forced to do so.
Let’s buy Australian goods where possible. I try to avoid all Chinese and Russian goods at all costs. I don’t like their bully boy tactics where they invade a country and call it theirs! It isn’t theirs. Just as China has no right to Taiwan, Russia has no right to Ukraine. And the Middle Eastern countries have no right to Israel. If they stopped having 4 wives and 20 kids they wouldn’t be so pressed for space. Whatever has happened to the women in those countries who are so brainwashed or terrified they they just let men make all rules and regulations and apply them harshly. These men have no right to bring those ideas to our free(used to be) country and try to make us change our laws to suit their idea of what is right.
It’s getting far worse when Centrelink pays subsidies for all those children. If a man has more than 5 children he should only get subsidies for 5 and not all the others. Under Australian law he is s a bigamist in the first place by having more than one wife.
Life in the 50s, 60s, 70s was so much better. There were problems that needed dealing with regarding equality and that is not a gender issue until you let genetic males fight genetic females under some twisted version of inclusion. Men are physically stronger and built differently and we have world renowned male boxers telling us that it will lead to severe brain injury and even death, yet the “let’s not let athletes eat meat” Paris OC now look just stupid expecting elite athletes to live on vegan diets when they are trying to put in the best performance of their careers.
We should be treated by merit and ability not by pretending we have different chromosomes than those we were born with. I can’t say that the two boxers in question. who were not allowed to box in the World Championships for these very good reasons, even look female, but they are getting away with murder at this farcical Olympic Games.
Honestly cardboard beds, insufficient food, no air conditioning at the height of a humid summer, itchy mattresses and on it goes until the athletes are expected to swim in a sewerage filled river! What a relief when it’s over. And those who missed the opening day can’t be at the close because there aren’t enough beds for them to stay!! Who ever heard of such nonsense at an Olympic Games?
Well that covers most of my pet gripes except for tiny minorities being given massive advantages.
Again things should be on merit and ability and not on race or gender (chromosomal) or anything else but common sense which seems to have left the world. Just look at today’s youth crime rates across the world. These kids have no respect for what has been bought for them by in most cases their grandparents or great grandparents blood. In my case it was two grandfathers and a father who suffered for over 70 years due to war injuries.
Well that’s me. I hope I haven’t offended too many of you but I mean what I say. I had to fight twice as hard to get the advantages of males so I know how frustrating it can be. But girls are now showing how much better they can be academically if they try, so it seems that boys show off by getting into the mysogenistic behaviour of social media. They seem to think they can defeat young girls by harassment rather than by studying hard to equal them!
Bye for now and I dare to say God bless each of you.

@TrishBin Well I was daunted by the length of your introduction, but I thought I would read it. I'm glad I did, very well composed, and I agree with probably all that you wrote. Welcome to SDC Trish. 👋 😁
