Transform your home with Kmart's new $8 décor - see why shoppers are raving over this ‘genius’ find

As we spend more time at home, it's become increasingly important to make our living spaces feel inviting and comfortable.

However, despite our best efforts, there are often areas in our homes that we simply can't seem to make feel as cosy or appealing as others.

Whether it's a neglected corner, an unused spare room, or a hallway that just feels a bit uninspiring, these dull areas can detract from the overall ambience of our homes.

For one homeowner, it was an empty space on her bathroom counter that left her feeling unsatisfied.

After weeks of wondering how to spruce up the area, she finally found a solution - the OXX Cosmetics Beauty Bulbs available for purchase at Kmart stores for just $8.

Posting in a popular Facebook group, Nat from New South Wales revealed how she used these $8 beauty bulbs from Kmart to brighten up an awkward area in her bathroom.

Normally perfect for use above vanity tables or dark cabinets, Nat applied the lights to her bathroom counter in the space between her mirror and cabinets, bringing some light and shine to the area.

These cool-toned beauty bulbs utilise white LED lights and can be fixed onto a surface with suction cups.

In the post, Nat shared a photo of her countertop, revealing that the lights were positioned directly beneath a reflective cabinet and gave off an ephemeral gleam.

'I've been looking at this awkward dark space in my bathroom for months while wondering how to jazz it up,' she wrote.

Nat also added that the lights are battery-operated and require four AA batteries, saying that it Is ideal for when you don’t have a socket inside your bathroom.

'I love these things!' she continued.

She did, however, have one minor complaint about the adhesiveness of the décor.

'It kept falling off, so I had to stick them on with a Velcro strip I found lying around the house,' Nat pointed out.

'You can also use double-sided tape to stick them onto a surface.'

The post caught many group members’ attention, many of whom expressed excitement about the décor.

One user wrote: 'This is a great idea - I need this in my life right now.'

'I'm about to put these in my daughter's bedroom,' another said.

'These are amazing when there's a power outage, it lights up our whole loungeroom!'

However, not everyone seemed to be impressed with the Kmart find.

One person claimed: 'I had four of them but they kept falling down, and one broke.’

'My strips just keep falling off the mirror - nothing can keep them up,’ another shared.

Others pointed out that while the décor itself is only worth $8, the costs for always changing the batteries add up, making it costly to maintain.

One customer complained: ‘It's super annoying that they're battery operated as they do not last that long.'

'I have lots of them but the only thing you need is full bag of batteries because you’ll need to changed them daily.'
