There’s no denying that organising our homes gives us a sense of relief and peace of mind. After all, a clean, well-organised house helps us feel more calm, productive, and happy in general.
However, it's no secret that organising our homes can be an exhausting and often expensive process. Several of us will most likely succumb to the desire to get the job done quickly, but at the expense of quality. However, there's no need to fear!
With some simple tricks and tips, we can successfully organise our homes without breaking a sweat (or our wallets)!
One woman took to Facebook to share how she uses items from Kmart to keep her home organised.
The woman also admitted that she felt motivated to declutter her home after the holidays ended.
'This all started when I tried to find a container for batteries, and ended with me clearing out my local Kmart of the small storage boxes (which cost $2.50 each) so I could finally do something about the junk drawers.'
'I forgot to take a "before picture" but all of this was just thrown in there. Opening these drawers now is so unbelievably satisfying.'
The lady also shared her perfectly organised labels - she said she'd used a Cricut, which can be bought fairly cheaply on second-hand marketplaces such as Facebook Marketplace.
'You can also go to Office works and buy any labelling machine with different size tapes, the machine will bluetooth to your phone and you can select a font and tape size,' she advised.
HINT: If you’re not bothered about fancy fonts or are looking for a budget option, you can pick up a 72-pack of stickers for $1 and handwrite each label.
Her post quickly gained traction, garnering thousands of likes and compliments.
'Looks awesome! Your home is beautiful,' wrote one commenter.
Another added: 'I'd love to employ you to organise my house…if I had lots of money.'
We can all agree that it’s a job well done - with a bit of creativity, you can make your home feel brand new at a fraction of the price!
So why not take a leaf out of her books and spruce up (or rather, declutter) your home? You’ll be glad you did.
